If you’re a business or property owner The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 under article 13 states that by law all buildings require extinguishers and holds you responsible for the provision of appropriate firefighting equipment on the premises.
Article 17 of the RRO 2005 states these fire extinguishers must not only be installed but also regularly serviced and maintained in line with BS 5306 British Standards. This means annual servicing is a must, and it should be carried out by a competent person – a trained fire extinguisher engineer.
